New Government Decree on employer obligations in the event of workplace accidents

We would like to inform you about a new legal regulation concerning the recording of occupational injuries.

On 3 September 2025, a new Government Decree No. 322/2025 Coll. was published in the Collection of Laws, which, as of 1 January 2026, will replace the current regulation (Government Decree No. 201/2010 Coll.).

 The main change is the digitization of the process in relation to the Labour Inspectorate – employers will now submit reports and records of occupational injuries via an electronic form on the State Labour Inspectorate portal.

 Other important changes include:

  • specification of the requirements for reporting an occupational injury;
  • records of occupational injuries must be submitted to the Labour Inspectorate (and, in specified cases, to the police and the health insurance company of the injured employee) no later than 15 working days from the date on which the employer became aware of the occupational injury;
  • the former “change report” submitted to the Labour Inspectorate will now be made by updating the information directly on the portal;
  • and more.

 The purpose of the new decree is primarily to simplify the process, reduce the administrative burden for employers in communication with public authorities (Labour Inspectorate), and accelerate the processing of information on occupational injuries by the Labour Inspectorates.

Employers should therefore review their internal procedures for reporting and recording injuries, particularly with regard to the new electronic filing and revised deadlines, but also to any changes in the requirements for certain related documents.
