Third edition of Privacy Law: A Global Legal Perspective on Data Protection Relating to Advertising and Marketing

For the third time, our team has contributed to the creation of a comprehensive guide on marketing and advertising law from the perspective of privacy protection – Privacy law: A Global Legal Perspective on Data Protection Relating to Advertising and Marketing. The book was created in collaboration with experts from around the world, brought together by the Global Advertising Lawyers Alliance (GALA). The team of authors includes Irena Lišková, Ladislav Mádl, and Eliška Říhová, our colleagues who wrote the chapter on Czech law.
The publication offers a detailed look at how privacy and data protection laws affect advertising and marketing in more than 79 countries, from Algeria to Zimbabwe. The third edition contains significant updates to privacy laws that have changed since the second edition was published in 2022. New chapters on privacy laws in Algeria, Malta, Morocco, North Macedonia, Rwanda, South Korea, Tunisia, and Uganda have also been added. Each chapter explains how privacy is regulated in relation to advertising and marketing in a given jurisdiction and addresses topics such as the collection and storage of personal data, personal data breaches, and the approach of local public authorities to enforcement. It also highlights the latest developments in privacy, anticipated changes, and challenges faced by companies in the rapidly evolving areas of privacy and marketing.
Physical copies of the book are availlable on Amazon in three volumes: Algeria – Kenya, Malaysia – Zimbabwe and EU (here, here and here).
