Relations with trade unions and collective bargaining

Our law firm offers specialised legal services to employers in relation with trade unions and collective bargaining. This is an area that requires not only a deep knowledge of labour law, but also a sensitive and strategic approach to negotiations, conflict prevention and the protection of employers’ interests.

This area is handled by our specialised team consisting of Nataša Randlová, a founding partner of the firm with decades of experience, who is a recognised expert and one of the most respected authorities in the field of labour law. Nataša is assisted by two junior associates, Lucie Krejčí and Vojtěch Kalina. The team has extensive experience in collective bargaining, dispute resolution with trade unions and setting up internal processes by the law.

We primarily assist employers with the preparation and conclusion of collective agreements, legal analysis of negotiation strategies and risk assessments, and represent them in negotiations with trade unions. We have assisted our clients in the following situations, among others:

  • We have extensive experience in negotiating collective agreements, even in non-standard situations. For example, we are currently negotiating a collective agreement for one employer with two separate trade unions at the same time.
  • We support an international company with four separate entities and several competing trade unions. Among other things, we have helped organise the election of employee representatives to the European Works Council, which we can certainly do for your company as well.
  • We have successfully defended several employers against so-called modern trade unions that demanded the sharing of internal and confidential information through a non-transparent web portal and compensation for significant amounts for office rent and legal services.
  • We have also defended several companies against “COVID” trade unions that tried to bully and intimidate them into not complying with government-imposed anti-COVID measures.

Our work is based not only on years of practice, but also on theoretical expertise – our team members regularly publish professional articles on the subject of trade unions. Our articles on this topic are available (in the Czech language only) here. Nataša Randlová is also co-author of a commentary on the Collective Bargaining Act, published in July 2025 by the respected legal publishing house C. H. Beck.
